Give your baby some tummy time
Babies sleep most of the time during the first few weeks. Thanks to its shape and the materials used to make it, the Cocoonababy nest is the only product which can be used day and night for the first months. The posture adopted by your child in the nest has been studied in depth by medical specialists and is the best one for your baby’s comfort and development.
However, whenever your baby is not in the nest or in your arms, remember to give him some floor play time.
As Midwife Cath explains, floor play time is important for your child's development. It allows them to explore their surroundings, learn, move and progress. Tummy time should start in the first week after birth, especially when the baby has been fed and is content. Place your baby on their tummy for a minute or two after a nappy change. After some time there, and once settled, put them on their back for a short period of time. Every baby is different and will tolerate floor play for a variety of times, so when your baby starts to protest and cry, that’s when floor time is over. Pick them up and feed them again!
Red Castle's double layered fleece blanket is the perfect accessory for floor play time, both indoors and outdoors!
